About GLOBAtech Australia

Almost two decades in smart ultrasonic antifouling.

GLOBAtech Australia is the engineering and R&D house behind the ENVSonic platform and the HullSonic product family. Founded in 2006. Vertically integrated. Australian-headquartered, deployed globally.

An engineering company in the maritime industry.

GLOBAtech today serves more than 1,000 vessels and industrial assets across 14+ countries through two product brands: ENVSonic for commercial and industrial markets, and HullSonic for recreational and leisure.

What distinguishes GLOBAtech in the category is compound engineering investment over time. Every layer of the technology platform — PCB design, embedded firmware, transducer engineering, modular industrial cabinet manufacturing, calibration, lifecycle support — designed and operated in-house, under one roof in Australia. Every product generation built on the previous one. Every customer relationship sustained across multi-year service horizons. Almost two decades of empirical design data accumulated through real installations on real assets in real operating conditions.

It’s a company shape that’s increasingly rare in modern maritime technology. We think it’s also the kind of company shape the next decade of regulatory and operational pressure on the industry will require.

Three platform generations. One architectural thesis.

The strategic architectural direction GLOBAtech committed to in 2012 — decentralised, smart-system control modules — remains the philosophical foundation of every product generation that has followed since. Three platform generations later, that architectural commitment is what defines the company’s competitive position.

Founder-led. Technically deep. Long-arc thinking.

Joshua David — Founder, CEO, Technology Lead

Joshua David has led GLOBAtech’s technical and commercial development through every product generation since the company’s founding. His engineering background spans electronics design, PCB layout, embedded systems and firmware, transducer engineering, acoustic design, and international maritime sales — a full-stack technical foundation that underpins GLOBAtech’s vertically integrated approach to platform development.

GLOBAtech operated as a bootstrapped R&D effort for almost two decades. Every dollar invested in the platform came from customer revenue or founder capital. The company’s first institutional capital round opens in 2026.

Patent-protected architecture.

GLOBAtech holds two patent applications pending across multiple jurisdictions, covering core elements of its next-generation transducer and propeller-protection technologies.

Beyond the patents themselves, GLOBAtech’s IP position rests on operational knowledge accumulated across more than a thousand commercial deployments — frequency response, hull coupling, and environmental durability data of a depth that cannot be replicated by new entrants. The patents protect the architecture; the operational record is what protects the customer relationship.

Built to global industrial standards.

GLOBAtech designs and manufactures every layer of the ENVSonic and HullSonic platforms to the regulatory and electromagnetic-compatibility standards required by the world’s major maritime markets. All ENVSonic and HullSonic products are CE, RCM, FCC, and RoHS compliant — covering electronic safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental hazardous-substance restrictions across the EU, Australian, and US regulatory regimes.

This is what serious industrial manufacturing looks like. Multi-jurisdiction certification is what allows us to ship into shipyards, fleet operators, and distribution channels across 14+ countries without market-by-market re-engineering.

What we stand for

The regulatory regime governing biofouling, fuel emissions, and vessel performance has changed faster than many in the maritime industry expected. GLOBAtech has spent its first two decades building the platform that answers it — vertically integrated, patent-protected, deployed where it matters.

The platform that the next decade of marine decarbonisation requires is the one we’ve already built. We chose the smart-system architecture in 2012, before the regulators were asking for it and before the operators were asking for it. The category caught up to us — not the other way around.
