HullSonic returned to METSTrade Amsterdam from 18–20 November 2025 — our second consecutive year exhibiting on the leisure floor — with an expanded display and a sharper commercial story than 2024.
The contrast with last year was immediate. In 2024 we spent most of our stand time educating buyers on what smart ultrasonic antifouling actually is, and how it differs from the conventional systems they already knew. In 2025 the buyers arrived at the stand already knowing the category — and asking the sharper question: which platform should they specify on the next yacht?
Three takeaways from the floor:
1. The 2023 strategic acquisition has reshaped the buyer’s framework. The recent strategic acquisition in our category validated ultrasonic antifouling for the broader market. Buyers we spoke to in 2025 had absorbed the implication: this is a real technology category, not a niche. The follow-on question — which architecture wins, conventional or smart? — is the question we are built to answer.
2. Leisure buyers are pulling industrial-grade expectations down-market. Yacht captains, fleet managers, and brokers in 2025 wanted cloud monitoring, fleet dashboards, remote diagnostics, and self-calibrating systems — all expectations that came up the curve from commercial shipping. The HullSonic platform delivers on those expectations because the underlying engineering comes from our commercial ENVSonic platform deployed on tugs, OSVs, and barges.
3. EU regulatory pressure is now a leisure-segment topic. Charter operators, large motor yachts, and any vessel above the EU ETS threshold are now inside the regulatory perimeter. The conversations on the floor increasingly turned to fuel-cost and emissions implications even at the leisure end of the market.
We also spent meaningful time with our European distribution partners (ELNA / Ferropilot, BTP-Marine), held in-person meetings with new distribution leads across the Gulf and Mediterranean, and ran technical demonstrations of our smart transducer architecture (the same sXDCR platform that powers the ENVSonic commercial product).
What’s coming next: The 2025 METSTrade conversations are already converting to active commercial pilots — both within the HullSonic leisure segment and into adjacent commercial conversations under the ENVSonic banner. We’re publishing a series of follow-on customer stories from these conversations across the coming months.
